How many colours can I include in my design?

We can print up to 12 colours in a design. Remember, white bases and
hilites are also considered colours and are almost always necessary on
dark coloured t-shirts.

What is your standard turn around time?

In most cases, we generally ask for 10 to 15 working days* to turn a job around, so arrival date will be 1-5 days beyond that depending on your shipping time (based on your location). If you require a quicker turnaround we might be able to offer a faster service that will include an extra charge, we cannot offer this service during busy periods so please ask and treat this as a case by case basis.

IMPORTANT NOTE :

*Turnaround times START from the date when you haveapproved” your e-proofs, NOT when it is originally paid for, or when we receive your blank garments or when submitted.

In most cases it takes around 1-3 working days for you to receive your e-proofs, in busy periods it can take around 4-10 working days. Any questions, changes, with either our sales team or art room manager will delay your lead times until the “e-proofs” are approved.

Depending on your changes your order may result being put outside of the e-proofing queue until your order has been finalised with our sales staff – example : design change, quantities, print positions, print colours etc will result into your order bag being placed out of the queue in our art-room until the sales manager updates the job bag with any changes.

You may also be charged an extra fee if your requests with our art-room manager fall outside 3 proofs / updates so please ensure you have your order finalised prior to paying your 50% deposit with our sales staff.

Can I pick up my order from the shop?

Absolutely! We love when our customers come and see us. Our collection hours are Monday to Friday from 8.30am through to 4.50pm.

We’re located at Factory 2, 204 Gipps Street, Abbotsford, Victoria, 3067.

How do I supply artwork?

Please see our guidelines in the ‘Resources’ section that covers
artwork specifically. We are not a graphic design agency so it is up to you to provide the required and suitable artwork files. Once approved and received we can then move forward with your official invoice for production purposes.

Why did you choose the printing method?

At Machine Screenprinters, we have dedicated garment printing specialists with over 20 years of expertise. If customers have not specified their preferred printing method, our printing specialists will decide upon the optimum technique to be used, based upon the garment and design specifications.

What is the set up charge for?

The set up charge is to colour separate your image and then to create a stencil onto a screen for each colour. Please note the physical screen remains the property of Machine Screenprinters.

Delivery / Couriers

We cannot be responsible for any shipping delays caused by the shipping company. If no one is present or available to sign or collect your delivery on arrival, you will be invoiced for a return delivery fee and another delivery fee back to your original address, that’s a minimum of 3 delivery fee’s in total.

How can I achieve a soft-feel with a t-shirt print?

Soft feel printing is the most requested method of printing in recent times.
We have perfected this form using specialty inks such as discharge and also solvent free water based inks. Soft feel is achievable on both dark and light coloured t-shirts and because of its technical requirements is charged at a higher price.

What are your minimum print runs?

Our recommended minimum print runs are based on the number of colours within your design. We suggest a one colour design has a minimum of 20 units, a two colour design has a minimum of 30, a three colour has 40 and so on. This recommendation means that your unit price is a reasonable, cost effective rate. Importantly, we can always print LESS than the recommended minimum but this does mean the unit price increases. Minimum runs assist in allowing us to cover set up times but also assist you in covering your set up costs.

Out of stock items

Machine Screenprinters is not responsible for items that are out of stock. While we check items we know to have potential stock issues, all garments are ordered after your 50% deposit has been received, and we cannot guarantee their availability. If items are out of stock, we will provide you with a list of possible replacements and get it approved by you before using your chosen item.

Can I print anywhere on a garment?

You can print on most areas of a garment however some placements don’t allow us to create a smooth surface area to print. Click on our resources page to view the printable areas.

Do you offer digital printing?

Yes, we work closely with a local DTG printer who we believe is the best in the business. We are happy to arrange your print job for you using DTG as we are offered great wholesale prices that we pass on to you.

Specific measurements when printing

Even though Machine screen printers have over 20 years of experience, there is no way to effectively and efficiently measure a distance from the collar on each shirt as each garment is loaded onto the press by hand. If you request a print that is 2” down from the collar, we will use that as a guide and do our best to make sure that all shirts hit that target, but not all shirts will hit exactly at 2”, they may be off by as much as an inch in either direction. This will not be considered a misprint and Machine Screenprinters will not reprint or refund these shirts.

Can you supply Australian made t-shirts?

We can supply Australian made t-shirts however we believe that our current suppliers offer the best styles and colours available worldwide
